Don't know what it is about anything vaguely Pendleton but it always looks both old and new.  I'm drawn to Navajo prints so it's not hard to figure out the attraction.

Kara Laricks

The incredibly talented Kara Laricks.  See more pictures of her here at the H&M/Fashion Star party on 5th Avenue a few days ago.  We chatted for a little bit and I congratulated her on all her successes on the show.  Kara is incredibly humble and grateful.  An endearing quality to have while working in Fashion.

I always loved her personal style as well as the designs she creates.  Each collection feels like a little bit of her coming down the runway.

Yep. It was that hot just a few days ago in New York.

Sneaky

Hi-top wedge sneakers are still prevalent in New York and not surprising.  They are a comfortable alternative to wearing a pair of Chuck Taylor type shoe.

Vivianne is wearing a pair in the $400 range and we discussed the positives of finding the look of Isabel Marant but at a less expensive price point.  Her bag is Proenza Schouler and the ring is by a designer friend.  Sick no?

Always works when done this well.

The Cut

Vanessa is wearing a vintage coat that she cut to above the knee.  It was a 'of course - why didn't I think of that' moment.

The Meeting

I shot these two completely separately approx 30 minutes apart.  Love the thrown together style of both and their sick (probably vintage) leather jackets.   It shows when seeing someone that has their own look that is not influenced by fleeting trends.  I'd be surprised if either looked completely different a year from now but then you never know.

I didn't realize that they were meeting each other until I walked past a random bench later on here.

School Girl

I particularly liked the little bow tie on Andrea.  A small detail that combined with the top knot and tights had slight school girl connotations in a good way.
